Once we arrive on the island, our staff will guide you through the old city atop the mountain and explain the mysterious and fascinating history that this island carried forward during the dark period of communist regime in Albania. There will be plenty of beautiful photo opportunities that our staff will capture for you. For those who don’t feel like walking, you can relax on the island’s beach where the sea, intertwined with the sun’s rays, will offer you invaluable relaxation. To combat the heat, we will have chilled drinks on board.

After 1 hour, the tour will continue towards Haxhi Ali Cave (20 minutes of navigation).

Once we arrive, we will enter the cave with the boat where the initial impact of the cave will leave you breathless. Once inside the cave, we can dive from the boat into the crystal-clear waters for snorkeling (with masks provided by us), and discover the magical sensations in the dives we will have the opportunity to do.

The tour will continue inside the Karaburun Peninsula where we will have the opportunity to admire the pristine beaches that nature has given us. The next stop will be Shen Vasil Beach, where you can have lunch and enjoy lots of fresh local food at the beachside restaurant.

Book now and just be happy because we’ll take care of the rest.

Highlights

Floating off the coast of the remote Karaburun Peninsula, 5.7 sq km Sazan Island is little known to even most Albanians. Once used as a submarine and chemical-weapons base by the Soviet Union during the Cold War, it's now home to an Albanian-Italian military base used to combat narcotics smuggling. In the summer of 2017, a small area of the island opened to visitors, making parts of its pristine coastline and historic relics accessible for the first time. Boat tours to Sazan Island also include stops at little coves with good snorkelling on the Karaburun Peninsula.
